"Ghar Ki Murgi Daal Barabar"- We have all heard this phrase and have been using it every now and then. Have we ever stopped to wonder why do we have this phrase? How can chicken ever taste like daal?
Well this phrase takes into account a very real and basic human need to take things for granted. Its so real that this phrase is a 'fact' for most of us.
Well obviously its not that the chicken starts tasting like daal but the satisfaction that we derive out of the chicken (something valuable) is equivalent to that of daal (comparatively less valuable). This happens because of our high level of expectations that we develop in our minds realted to any particular thing (in this case-chicken)
Obviously, if we are having chicken we would not want it to taste like daal because if we wanted daal then we would have taken that only. Strangely, there keeps coming times in all of our lives when we need someone else to tell us that we are having chicken (to make us realise the true value of something). Its only after this outside re-inforcement do we FEEL as if we are having chicken. Infact, many a times REALIZATION is so great that we can even enjoy a daal as if its chicken.
This outisde person who has this power to re-inforce is called a MOTIVATOR!!!
